As a result of the city of culture award many areas of Istanbul are currently under major regeneration, similar to that of the London docklands 15 years ago.

Approximately 700,000 people are re-locating to Istanbul every year due to it being the cultural heart of Turkey plus ever increasing numbers of multi-national corporations setting down roots in the area boosting its standing in the corporate world.

Istanbul has been ranked second in a list of this year’s top real estate markets in Europe for both investment and development prospects, according to the highly regarded real estate forecast, Emerging Trends in Real Estate® Europe 2008.
